The principle aim of YOGITS is to put regular participative rugby back into the lives of our team members. An opportunity to simply throw the ball around each week, catch up with old friends, meet new ones and just have a laugh. The physical health benefits that YOGITS provide are clear but this has also generally had a positive impact on overall well-being.

When playing contact rugby stops – through age and/or injury – it’s not just the weekly training/playing that is missed, it’s the being part of something, the camarderie with your team mates. These losses can have a detrimental impact on mental well-being. YOGIT team members have stated that being part of something again and taking part in rugby again has really improved their mental well-being and therefore it felt natural to work closely with MIND Ystradgynlais to broaden the discussion on mental well-being, start to break down the stigma of talking and taking action on the subject and provide a sign post to anyone who just needs help.

We are proud to have Mind Ystradgynlais on the front of the Yogit Team shirt, close to our hearts and look forward to working with them to improve the mental well-being of our team, their families and the community in which we live
